The Laser Tattoo removal treatment

The laser light energy is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo. This rapidly heats and breaks up the pigment-containing granules in the tissues. The pigment is then taken up by the lymphatics and cleared by the body through the liver, a process which takes several weeks. The tattoo fades gradually over this time, and more each time the laser treatment is repeated.

The tiny explosion of energy is felt as a shock wave and as heat, which the body feels as pain (like a little hot electric shock).  We keep this to a minimum by blowing super-cooled air onto the skin before and during the laser. The treatment is quick, and there is little or no pain afterwards.

Laser Tattoo Removal – the after-effects

The skin can look and feel like is it sunburnt for a few days after the laser, and needs to be treated with care, but the end result is great.  The laser itself does not cause scarring or reactions.

If you had an allergic reaction at the time of the tattoo or an infection afterwards, you may experience these again as the tattoo is removed.  If you had scarring from the tattoo, the laser may not remove it completely, but it will improve it.

How much does laser tattoo removal cost?

  • Laser Tattoo Removal takes between 5-20 treatments, spaced at least 4 weeks apart, depending on the size and complexity of the tattoo. It will therefore take several months to remove even the smallest tattoo.
  • Removal becomes more difficult the darker the skin, the larger and more complex the tattoo is, if the tattoo has been tattooed over, and certain colours such as white, yellow and fluoro pink are harder to remove.

  • Each treatment will cost $250, and only a certain area can be treated each time.
  • It is a considerable investment of time and money on your part, and a decision you should make with help and with care.

Can everyone be treated?

Some tattoos are difficult to remove completely.
But all tattoos can be faded considerably, to the point where other people do not see them, and our machine has additional features which allow us to remove previously impossible tattoos.

Tattoos are more difficult to remove the darker the skin, the more dense and complex the tattoo, when the tattoo has been tattooed over, and certain colours are hard to remove, especially white and fluoro pink and yellow.
